“The life of every man is a diary in which he means to write one story, and writes another; and his humblest hour is when he compares the volume as it is with what he vowed to make it.” ~ James M. Barrie

BookOfLife2014

I wrote half as much on my blog in 2013 as I did in 2012. There were so many things going on, so many adventures and work has become truly difficult. That can happen as things change, management moves on and is replaced with a new team with new priorities, and … well, life can get in the way.

But I can’t complain with a lovely wife by my side and approaching our 40th year of marriage. The kids are productive, the pets happy, and the parents kickin’ butt and taking names. My sibs are all very busy to with life, work and hobbies.

So I’m thinking about what I want to do with this fine year? 2014 promises to be just as busy, just as challenging, and full of opportunities. I’m hard pressed to make any solid resolutions this year. Suzy and I have done so much in the last two years having downsized the homestead, paid off the credit cards, and are in the home stretch towards retirement. It should be a very interesting year.
