Ever Google Your Name?

imageWhen you have a common name like mine, Googling it can be a very humbling experience. I was reading the Recruiters Lounge article, You’re a Nobody unless your name Googles Well and started pinging my name. Bonus learning, adding an employer, hobby, or other disambiguater changes where you end up in the pages.

First of all, I’m wondering if my search results are tailored to me. It would certainly appear to be the case in Google, where I am in five of the top six hits. In Bing, I only show up once in the top five.

But searching on “jim glass” + mjjo brings up my hobby band and this old post that I threw up just to show my friends how cool my sax section is. Fun times.

About Gandalfe

Just an itinerant saxophonist trying to find life between the changes. I have retired from the Corps of Engineers and Microsoft.
