Photographs

This week I was visiting with my Dad and a friend who had some inside info on Amazon from a Microsoftie who had worked there. We stopped at Tully’s Coffee shop. Always interested in learning about the company I work for, we met and talked.

While we sipped our coffee and chatted both of us young fella’s checked our phones periodically. So I asked this friend to take a picture with my Win7 phone with the Mango OS and then take the same shot with his iPhone 4. We had just gotten done comparing the GUIs and features. So this was to be our last comparison. Can you guess which picture is the Win7 and which is the iPhone?

Neither picture had any post processing which would have improved both pictures. I’m not sure that I prefer either; I would actually prefer something in between these. One is too dark, the other is too light. I do dislike the smeary lights in the Win7 photo which I have not seen before. Maybe my friend moved the camera a bit. He was trying half push the button to get the autofocus square to appear and was surprised when the camera snapped this shot.

I do know that it is way too easy to smear stuff on the lens of Win7 phone. I keep my phone in my pocket (yeah, I’m not planning on having any more progeny). I should have cleaned the lens with my eye glass cloth before the picture was taken. YMMV.

If you have a favorite post processor for photos, let me know. I’m looking for a free program to add edge treatments, vintage looks, and other fun stuff to the pictures I take.
